Two-step sign-in and passkeys
Ask for a code from an authenticator app when you sign in, and see which devices are signed in.
Turn on two-step sign-in
- Open Family & settings → Sign-in & security.
- Tap Turn on two-step sign-in, and confirm it is you with your password or a passkey.
- Scan the code with an authenticator app on your phone. If you cannot scan it, type the key it shows instead.
- Enter the 6-digit code the app shows, and tap Turn on.
- Save the ten recovery codes somewhere safe, then tap I saved them. They are shown only once.
From now on, signing in asks for a code from your authenticator app after your password. Turning it on signs out your other devices.
If you lose your phone
On the code screen, tap Lost your phone? Use a recovery code and enter one of your saved codes. Each code works once. When you are signed in, make new ones under New recovery codes.
Passkeys
Under Passkeys & account protection, tap Add a passkey to confirm important changes with your phone’s or computer’s own lock instead of your password.
See where you are signed in
Where you’re signed in lists every device signed in to your account, including a wall display. Tap Sign out on one, or Sign out of all other devices. If you do not recognise a device, sign it out and change your password.
Still stuck? Email support@ourstead.casa and say which device you use. A person reads every message.
