Delete your account or your household
Leave Ourstead yourself, or, as the owner, delete the whole household, with 14 days to change your mind.
During the beta
During the beta, the owner cannot delete the household directly, and grown-ups cannot remove other grown-ups. An owner who is the only grown-up with an account can still delete their account, which schedules the household for deletion as described below.
Delete your own account
- Open Family & settings and tap your name at the top of the list.
- Under Leave Ourstead, tap Delete my account.
- Read what stays with the household and what is deleted with your account.
- Confirm it is you, then tap Delete my account.
A grown-up who is not the owner is removed straight away. Their private records are deleted, and shared things, such as a shopping list, stay with the household.
If you are the owner
While other grown-ups with accounts are in the household, hand it on first: Family & settings → Household → Transfer ownership. If you are the only grown-up with an account, deleting your account schedules the whole household for deletion. Nothing is deleted for 14 days: sign in before then and tap Restore to keep everything.
Without the app
Email support@ourstead.casa from the address on your account, with the subject “Delete my account”. Delete your account has the details.
