Set up the rewards shop

Give points for chores, add rewards a child can save for, and approve what they ask for.

Say what a chore is worth

1. Open Chores and add a chore, or tap the pencil beside one.
2. Tap More options.
3. Under Reward points, type what finishing the chore is worth, such as 10.
4. Tap Add chore, or Save changes.

The points are earned when a child finishes the chore. If the chore needs a grown-up to approve it, they are earned when you approve it. A day you send back earns nothing. Only a child on the chore earns points.

Add a reward

1. Open Rewards from More.
2. Tap Add reward.
3. Give it a name and a points price, such as “An hour of screen time” for 20 points, and choose a Picture if you like.
4. Tap Add reward.

A child asks for a reward

A child uses the rewards shop on the kitchen wall or on a phone you hand to them. On the wall, tap Rewards, then the child’s name. On your phone, open Rewards, find the child under Points, and tap Hand over. They see their points and the rewards, and tap Ask for this on the one they want.

The request appears under Waiting for you on Rewards, and in Notifications under Right now.

Approve or decline

Under Waiting for you, tap Approve to give the reward and spend the points, or Decline to say no without spending anything. Take back withdraws a request nobody has answered. If the points have already gone on something else, approving is refused and the request stays waiting.

Correct a balance

1. Open Rewards and tap Give or take points, or the button beside a child.
2. Choose the child, and whether you are adding or taking away.
3. Type the number of points and a reason, such as “Helped with the garden”.
4. Tap Save points.

The reason stays with the points, so every balance can be read back as the history that made it.
