Rewards and allowance
Pay a child for a finished chore, and keep their money in Spend, Save, Give and Goal.
During the beta
The allowance is not open during the beta. Grown-ups who open Budget see a preview with invented numbers, including an Allowance card, and nothing in it is saved. Budget, net worth and the allowance arrive after the beta. This article describes how the allowance works then.
Pay for a chore
- Open My money from More. For grown-ups, the screen is called Allowance.
- Under What chores pay, tap Set beside a chore.
- Enter the Amount in dollars, and a Note if you like.
- Tap Save reward.
The child is paid each time the chore is finished and a grown-up approves it. A chore that repeats pays every time. A reward is paid only on approval, so tick Needs a grown-up to approve when done on any chore that pays.
Add money or correct a balance
Tap Add money for a gift or a weekly allowance, or Adjust to correct a balance. Choose which part it is For: Spend, Save, Give or Goal.
Let a child ask to spend
Under Spend requests, turn on asking for a child. They can then tap Ask to spend and say what it is for. Their request appears under Waiting for you, where a grown-up can Approve or Decline it.
