Notifications and quiet hours
Choose what reaches you outside the app, on which devices, and the hours when nothing should.
Turn notifications on
Notifications start switched off. A grown-up turns them on for the household first, then each person chooses their own.
- Open Notifications from More.
- Grown-ups: under What this household hears about, switch on Send notifications outside the app.
- Under Your devices, tap Allow notifications, then allow them when your phone or browser asks.
- Under How much do you want to hear?, choose Just in the app, Essentials only, A daily summary or Everything.
On an iPhone or iPad, add Ourstead to your Home Screen first and open it from there. Safari sends notifications only to Home Screen apps.
Fine-tune what you hear
Under Fine-tune, choose Phone notifications, Email, or both, and switch off any kind of notification you do not want. Email goes only to a confirmed address, and carries titles and dates, never amounts or private details.
Set quiet hours
- On the Notifications screen, find Quiet hours and tap Set.
- Enter a start and an end, such as 22:00 and 07:00, and tap Save.
- If you like, turn on Let urgent things break through so anything overdue still reaches you.
Nothing is sent during quiet hours. It waits until they end. To stop them, tap Turn quiet hours off.
Still stuck? Email support@ourstead.casa and say which device you use. A person reads every message.
