Changes not showing up on another device
What to check when something one person added does not appear on someone else’s phone, or a change will not save.
How updates reach everyone
When someone saves a change, Ourstead sends it to every other device that has Ourstead open, usually within a few seconds. A device that cannot keep a live link checks for changes about every 20 seconds instead, and every device checks again when you come back to the app.
If someone else’s change has not appeared
- Wait a few seconds. Leave the screen and come back to it.
- Check the device is connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data.
- Close Ourstead and open it again, or reload the page in a browser.
- Check you can see it: “Just me” events, notes and birthdays, and private chores, are only for the person who made them. Children see only what the owner allows.
If your own change will not save
Ourstead needs an internet connection to save a change. If you are not connected, it says that the change has not been saved, and keeps the page open so you can try again. Reconnect, then save again. If Ourstead says a change needs your decision, tap the note and choose to send it again or discard it.
Still stuck? Email support@ourstead.casa and say which device you use. A person reads every message.
