Who’s driving: rides and carpools

Mark an event as needing a driver, choose who drives, and see which rides still need someone.

Some of this is Plus The parts marked Plus need Ourstead Plus. What Plus includes.

During the beta

While Ourstead is in beta, the Plus warnings and suggestions are free for every household, marked “Plus · free in beta”.

Choose a driver

  1. Open the event, or tap New event.
  2. Tick Needs a driver.
  3. Under Who’s driving, choose yourself, another grown-up, or one of your Carpool friends. Or leave it as Not decided yet.
  4. Save the event.

The driver shows on the calendar, on Today and on the wall. Until someone is chosen, Today asks “Who’s driving?” under Needs attention.

With Plus

Plus warns you when the driver you pick is already driving somewhere at that time, and shows the grown-ups who are free then: tap one to make them the driver. For a carpool friend, Ask opens a ready-written text or email to them. Nothing is sent until you send it.
